Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM’s Export Regulation Office is responsible for obtaining all US export authorizations necessary to deliver IBM hardware software technology and services worldwide (180+ countries) to both internal and external clients. We are looking for an individual to join a team of compliance professionals responsible for establishing and enforcing corporate policy for compliance with US and non-US export regulations trade regulations advocacy and a management system for engagements with human rights considerations.
  • The candidate will participate in activities such as engaging with internal IBM business teams to achieve compliant solutions conducting corporate business development due diligence leading internal export compliance reviews and delivering against corporate education objectives.
  • As a member of the Export Regulation Office this position will serve as a resource for IBM’s global export compliance network and all employees on complying with export regulations. This involves interfacing with all areas of IBM’s extensive global operations including but not limited to Research Development Manufacturing Services HR Legal and Sales & Delivery.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • The successful candidate for this position will be able to employ effective problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct comprehensive analyses lead projects provide training conduct reviews and interpret regulations.
  • The successful candidate for this position must be able to demonstrate experience in managing compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) sanctions programs administered by the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and the U.S. Commerce Department’s Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Such experience includes but is not limited to obtaining licenses or other authorizations from the U.S. Government; managing compliance with license conditions provisos etc. and associated reporting; conducting complex transactional analysis; and/or the management of complex export-controlled projects or programs.
