The Opportunity:

As the Export Team Leader, you’ll be the key liaison between our company and our valued customers, ensuring that our export services are not just met but exceeded. You’ll lead a dedicated team of export operations staff and manage the daily activities that keep our export processes running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee Ocean & Air Freight Operations: Manage bookings, coordinate shipments, and follow up on documentation to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
• Coordinate Shipments: Work with transport providers, shipping lines, airlines, and destination representatives to keep everything on track.
• Track and Acquit Shipments: Handle both domestic and international movements, ensuring all shipments are accurately tracked and processed.
• Quote Management: Provide quotes for new and existing business opportunities and ensure they are updated in CargoWise.
• Client Service: Review and respond to internal and external service reports, and assist in client implementation plans, including SOPs and stakeholder briefings.
• Problem Solving: Identify potential issues and provide proactive solutions. Handle 'Moments of Truth' and resolve issues to clients' satisfaction.
• Cost Efficiency: Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve service delivery.
• Leadership: Lead and mentor staff on operational activities, ensuring adherence to safety, policies, and compliance requirements.

Key Requirements:

• In-depth knowledge of global forwarding operations, import/export market trends, and strong experience with CargoWise.
• Proven ability to handle customer interactions with a strong service ethic.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with a results-oriented approach.
• Effective team leadership with a focus on performance and process improvement.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with a solid understanding of sales processes and market dynamics.
