Job Description
The External Reporting Manager role is part of the Technical Accounting & External Reporting team within the Accounting & Reporting function and reports directly to the Senior Director of Technical Accounting & External Reporting. This position is focused on supporting the Company's external reporting process by working with various stakeholders to prepare quarterly and annual financial statements along with related disclosures and management's discussion and analysis in compliance with US GAAP. The successful candidate will have a strong background in technical accounting research and financial reporting and be able to manage multiple priority items while working with a variety of cross-functional teams.
Lead Responsibilities:
- Preparing and assisting with the Company's External reporting requirements, including the quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Conducting research and providing guidance on technical accounting issues related to non standard transactions.
- Evaluating the disclosure impact related to transactions that the company enters into in accordance with US GAAP, as well as the impact of new accounting standard updates.
- Collaborating with Legal, Treasury, Tax, FP&A, and various Accounting & Reporting teams to ensure a smooth reporting process
- Working closely with the FP&A department to support quarterly Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A)
- Designing and maintaining effective accounting policies, procedures and controls over the external reporting cycle, including accounting for non-standard transactions
- Assisting in quarterly reviews and annual audit by fulfilling audit requests, as necessary
- Participating in special projects and initiatives on an ad-hoc basis, as required
Required Education / Experience / Skills:
- Big 4 (or other nationally recognized public accounting firm) experience. Desirable to also have experience working in external reporting beyond public accounting experience.
- CPA certification
- Demonstrated strong technical accounting skills and a comprehensive understanding of accounting, GAAP, PCAOB standards and SEC regulations.
- Demonstrated strong analytical, verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated track record of attention to detail, time management and prioritization skills.
- Experience working directly with senior executives and building relationships with numerous diverse groups throughout a large organization.
- Ability to thrive under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
