General Summary:
Hitachi Astemo Americas, Inc is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Finance and Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, ability to multi-task, strong organizational skills, and a passion for process improvement.
Responsible for the F&A related functions supporting each siteβs implementation and create an environment for the Americas regional F&A teams to collaborate ideas & solutions to help create common processes & functionality across the region. Work closely with their respective regional process owners, local sites process/business subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify requirements and propose solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all tax and compliance requirements such as corporate state/local income tax, local property tax, IRS inquiries, government questionnaires
- External audit coordination, such as annual tax and financial exams
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
- Responsible for Internal audit β including internal audit compliance responses and F&A department self-audits
- Responsible for external R&D, APA and asset impairment studies
- Support annual budget compilation
- Leads month end closing process
- Responsible for cash management and cash controls
- Ensures all AP/AR activities are processed timely and according to company policies.
- Oversees fixed asset management and corporate project management.
- Collaborates with department managers to monitor budget variances.Β
- Financial Reporting β local, regional and headquarters
- Familiar with standard inventory costing concepts & analysis
- Profit analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
- Communicates with management and others in a cooperative manner
- Recruit, develop, train, and evaluate finance staff
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Promotes a Safety-First Attitude and provides safe work environment by following all required corporate safety policies and OSHA regulations which may or may not include Personal Protective Equipment, Chemicals, Fall Protection, Fire Protection, Incident reporting, Hearing conservation, and others.
- Creates necessary documents (work instructions) to help aid with training for finance department activity.
- Performs due diligence on calculated and contributed data included in financial reports, internal and external
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
Key Metrics Responsibility:
- Budget vs Actual Reporting
- Regional Financial Template β including P&L, Sales analysis, Gap Analysis
- Headquarters Monthly/Quarterly Reporting
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Uses time management skills to organize, prioritize and delegate multiple projects to meet project deadlines
- Advanced Microsoft Office, Excel, Word
- Use of office equipment i.e.. fax, copier, calculator
- Ability to work with others in an open office, team environment
- Ability to Multi-task / work a fast-paced office
- Excellent analytical abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrates high level of integrity, business ethics, and confidentiality
- Ability to build friendly work relationships, develop cross department teams and mentor junior staff
- Familiar with accounting concepts, practices, and procedures β Strong in GAAP, familiar with IFRS
Education: 4-year degree in accounting or business administration
Experience: 3-5 years minimum in similar function within a manufacturing environment, automotive manufacturing experience preferred
Job level determined by various factors such as organization size, responsibility, career stage, and capabilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for supervising 2-3 direct report staff. May include cost accountant, staff accountant, accounting coordinator, accounting clerk, and student interns
