FAA Certifications Engineer

The Gogo Business Aviation FAA Certification Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the certification process. You will coordinate FAA activities for multiple products and installations on aircraft. You will also ensure compliance with applicable FAA regulations and provides guidance to team members throughout the project. This is a dual role position as you will provide backup support to the Configuration Management Department, processing change orders and change requests using Propel PLM.

How will you make a difference?

• Learn and coordinate all aspects of the STC certification process with the FAA/ODA and internal stakeholders
• Execute under guidance the FAA certification processes: plan submissions, conformity inspections, ground/flight tests, and STC
• Maintain and update existing STCs
• Review and support DO-160, DO-178 Software, and DO-254 Airborne Electronic Hardware certification documents and processes in accordance with applicable regulations and standards
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify FAA certification regulations and requirements and determine methods of compliance
• Become proficient in Propel PLM
• Process engineering change requests and engineering change orders in Propel PLM
• Assist the Change Management Team during periods of high demand
• Provide backup support to the Change Management Team during team absences
• Support the revision and updating of existing processes and procedures

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience required
• 0-2 years' experience with FAA regulations, procedures and the STC process
• 0-2 years' experience as a Change Analyst using a PLM

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred skills, experience and talents

• Aircraft design or maintenance experience
• Exposure to leading or managing projects (systems, software, or hardware)
• Familiarity with DO-160, DO-178C, and DO-254

67,200.00 - 84,000.00 USD Annual
Target Annual Short-Term Incentive:
Bonus Plan at 5% (% of Annualized Base Pay)
