MORSE is an innovative, employee-owned, tech company located in Kendall Square in Cambridge, MA specializing in solving multi-disciplinary problems faced by the US National Security Ecosystem. Our specially selected team of engineers, software developers and scientists develop algorithms, software integrated prototypes and solutions for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Manned and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, Mission Planning, and Situational Awareness.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Facilities and Real Estate Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our facilities and real estate portfolio, including furniture procurement, lease review and negotiation, property management relationships, real estate expansion planning, health and safety procedures, and project management. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and negotiate leases and other agreements related to company properties
  • Manage property management relationships and oversee day-to-day operations
  • Plan and execute real estate expansion strategies, including identifying and securing new spaces
  • Lead strategic discussions on new space or space renovations
  • Coordinate with landlords, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of projects
  • Oversee the laboratory space expansion and organization, working closely with engineers and program leads
  • Work closely with cleaning crews to maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Restock supplies and amenities as needed
  • Order and coordinate the setup of furniture and equipment as needed
  • Travel to company sites as required (Cambridge, MA and surrounding towns along with Washington, D.C.)Β 
  • Develop and implement health and safety procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards
  • Manage budgets and forecast expenses related to facilities and real estate
  • Project manage construction and renovation projects from concept to completion
  • Read and understand contracts and agreements related to facilities and real estate

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Security ClearanceΒ 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Property Management, or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in facilities management or a related field
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience supervising vendors/contractors/architects and other external partners
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience with budgeting and financial forecasting
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations related to facilities and real estate management
  • Ability to travel as required
