Job Summary
The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Specialist to provide Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Building Information Management (BIM) drafting and design services for the Facilities Engineering and Construction organization.

What You'll Be Doing

• Manage and develop CAD and BIM based architectural and engineering construction documents and specifications in conformance with the Facilities organizational and customer needs
• Collect close-out documentation from contractors on completed projects
• Process as-built drawings and close-out packages as received from consulting architects and engineers.
• Updates operational floor plans and as-built documentation inventory upon project completion
• Provide CAD drafting and supports design and construction of new and existing projects using AutoCAD and Revit/Navisworks Drawing Management software
• Project design and draft content including architectural, structural, civil, survey, electrical, network and communications, security and access control, fire life safety, audio visual and mechanical
• Assist in the development of Concept plans for submission to internal customers
• Assist in the development of Concept plans to be used as "Scope of Work" documents for consulting architects and engineers
• May develop project plans to include project goals and outcomes, timelines, and deliverables; provide project updates to management.
• Ensure record keeping and information complies with facilities' requirements.

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:

• 2-year degree in Computer-Aided Drafting, Engineering or Architecture
• Five or more years of relevant experience working with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Building Information management (BIM) software
• This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

• AutoCAD/Revit certification desired
• Demonstrated knowledge of CAD/BIM technology center standards
• Demonstrated proficiency in handling CAD reference files; file naming and CAD labeling conventions for sheet files and model file types; knowledge of plotter operations; proficiency in handling CAD reference files.
• Demonstrated experience with design and engineering practices and industry standards for building construction.
• Ability to read and interpret operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and building construction drawings.
