Facilities & EHS Specialist
Job Description
Fluidra’s looking for a Facilities & EHS Specialist to join our team at our West Coast office inn Carlsbad, CA.
WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
The Facilities and EH&S Specialist will assist in assuring the effective functioning of our Carlsbad & DCW facility by providing an efficient and safe working environment for employees and their activities using best business practices to manage resources, services and processes to meet the needs of the company. Additionally, you will:
Facilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of facility management program including preventative maintenance and life-cycle requirements
- Conduct and document regular facilities inspections and coordinate intra-office moves
- Plan and manage facility central services such as security, cleaning, waste disposal and parking
- Negotiate, manage and review service contracts to ensure facility management needs are being met:
- Manage trash collection process for facility
- Oversee recycling program
- Oversee scheduling for waste disposal
- Track and administer scrap items in the lab area
- Track and manage HazMat materials
- Assist in building and managing a laboratory/shop of diversified, intelligent, responsive and innovative resources committed to achieving the objectives of the organization
- Quickly react to facility needs
- Perform basic facilities maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of the permeameter of the facility
Environmental Health & Safety:
- Implement safety programs and required EHS standards
- Track quarterly ESG targets in SAI360
- Conduct risk assessments to ensure compliance with corporate policies
- Act as the site contact for safety related matters
- Document and maintain records of all incidents including near misses
- Facilitate root cause analysis and action plan development for all recordable incidents
- Facilitate new hire safety training
- Track the progress of actions plans and provide updates to management team
- Collaboratively partner with HR in the handling of safety incidents and workers compensation claims as needed.
- Understand and keep current with OSHA and other government regulations
- Monitor and audit functionality of facility emergency equipment
- Promote a safe working environment
- Assure security of the facility and maintains access systems
WHAT WE SEEK
- 4+ years of facilities maintenance experience
- Knowledge of OSHA standards
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to turn goals into actionable results with a proven record of accomplishments
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness of deadlines
- Ability to coordinate multiple group efforts within the company to achieve objectives
- Ability to be the outward facing safety and environmental representative to regulatory agencies
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and procedures related to pool or similar equipment and appliances (e.g., UL, CSA, NSF), including laboratory standards (e.g., ISO17025)
- Solid administrative and organizational skills, with expertise in Microsoft Office and other similar application packages
- Working knowledge of general laboratory equipment, e.g., electrical, combustion, temperature, hydraulic and environmental
- Certified as a safety professional by an accredited organization preferred
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent

Expected salary range is $60,000 - $75,000. Fluidra offers a comprehensive total rewards / benefits program that includes base salary, annual bonus based on performance of individual and company objectives, competitive 401K matching, paid vacation and sick time, full range of health benefits, educational assistance, etc. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience and location.
