Tendeg LLC is a premier spacecraft deployables company. Our novel designs are enabling exciting missions providing high gain antennas for sensor applications and communications. We have multiple antennas on-orbit and numerous flight deliverables occurring in 2023. Our missions include Earth Science (weather, surface deformation and change); LEO, GEO and lunar communications; synthetic aperture radar; and unique radio frequency sensors for commercial and government applications. Title: Facilities Manager/Planner

Position Type: Full-Time

Pay Range: $85,000 - $120,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data)

About the role: We are looking a Facilities Manager/Planner that will support one of the following programs:

  • INCUS: NASA has selected Tendeg to deliver four Ka-band deployable antennas for a new Earth science mission called Investigation of Convective Updrafts (INCUS) that will study the behavior of tropical storms and thunderstorms, including their impacts on weather and climate models. https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/nasa-selects-new-mission- to-study-storms-impacts-on-climate-models.
  • SDC: NASA has selected Tendeg to develop a large rectangular aperture deployable antenna for a Surface Deformation and Change mission. Tendeg completed TRL-6 testing of the baseline antenna, which is 7x1.4m and operates at C-band and is studying a 12x2m configuration at L-band. https://science.nasa.gov/earth-science/decadal-sdc.
  • 2-axis Gimbal Antennas: Tendeg has multiple contracts to develop, fabricate, test and deliver flight units for deployable high gain antennas from X-band to Q/V-band. These are for sensor and communication missions for LEO to lunar applications.

What you'll do:

  • Lead facilities support for employees and contractors to deliver operations services in a timely and cost-effective manner. Coordinate response to emergency situations that may impact operations.
  • Significant expertise and experience with the upkeep and function of buildings, building systems (electrical, mechanical, plumbing), machinery, landscape, and quality improvement projects.
  • ensure compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes
  • Significant experience with expansion projects interfacing and coordinating with contractors and external teams
  • allocate and manage facility space for maximum efficiency
  • Coordinate intra-office moves
  • Schedule and supervise maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment
  • Oversee facility refurbishment and renovations
  • Help plan and manage facility central services such as reception, security, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and parking
  • Implement best practice processes to increase efficiency
  • Calculate and compare costs for goods and services to maximize cost-effectiveness
  • Negotiate contracts to optimize delivery and cost saving
  • Coordinate and monitor activities of contract suppliers
  • Manage contractor and vendor relationships
  • Manage and review service contracts to ensure facility management needs are being met
  • Ensure delivery schedules, quantity and quality criteria are met
  • Check completed work by contractors and vendors
  • Verify payment and invoicing match contract pricing
  • Prepare and track facility budget
  • Monitor expenses and payments
  • Generate and present regular reports and reviews of facility-related budgets, finances, contracts, expenditures, and purchases
  • Develop and implement cost reduction initiatives
  • Advise on and monitor energy efficiency
  • Respond to facility and equipment alarms and system failures
  • Provide prompt response to requests and issues from facility occupants
  • Review of all proposals, and change order requests from the service providers, contractors, suppliers, etc. Consistent collaboration with Development and leadership teams to provide a continuous feedback loop to improve building functionality and material selection.
  • Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor recreation spaces
  • Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals
  • Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders
  • Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions
  • Collaborating with building owners and upper management on budgeting for facilities needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key job requirements:

  • Bachelor's Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Construction Management preferred.
  • 7+ years of construction/facilities management experience with a demonstrated focus in delivering and/or maintaining warehouse or workplaces.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create comprehensive Preventative Maintenance plans and tools to monitor them closely.
  • Expertise in the planning, scheduling, budgeting, resourcing, and executing of all technical services required to maintain and improve buildings. This includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, fire-alarm, janitorial, landscaping, flooring,
  • Ability to balance the trade-offs between operational risk and investment, constantly seeking the highest quality and design at the best value.
  • Proven communication and supervisory skills, including experience working with various levels of an organization and ability to manage customer service issues involving employees in a professional and positive manner.
  • Ability to diagnose, manage and resolve maintenance issues quickly and efficiently, including experience prioritizing and assigning repairs.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with facility operation teams, utility companies, government agencies, architectural & design firms, and general contracting firms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to speak with all levels of employees, guests, vendors and team members
