RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Senior Failure Analysis engineers for electrical, physical and chemical characterization work in a timely and accurate manner for the electrical and mechanical characteristics of systems and/or integrated circuits, components, sub-components systems to determine the cause of failure, including the verification of analog and digital performance.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Reliability, Design, etc.) to solve problems arising from customer returns, process anomalies, engineering evaluations, and new product development.
  • Wet and Dry Chemical deprocessing or parallel polishing will be used to reveal the defects.
  • Prior or rapid learning of Microprobing and circuit understanding/debugging will be key to succeed in this position.
  • Acquire skills in the operation and application of standard failure analysis tools including X-ray analysis, Acoustic Microscopy, Light Microscopy, Oscilloscopes, IR microscopy, OBIRCH, photon emission microscopy (PEM) and SEM/EDS analysis, Liquid Crystal hot spot detection.
  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive working relationships internally and externally.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electronics engineering with strong understanding on electrical and circuit analysis.
  • Working knowledge of analog / digital circuit design, semiconductor physics and bipolar/CMOS, analog/power/mixed-mode IC design preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency utilizing MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, photo-editing, schematic and IC layout software, Matlab and scripting languages.
