Here's the Gist:
As a Failure Analysis Engineer, you will be part of a team that analyzes the failure of SiC Schottky diodes and MOSFETs, Power Modules, and GaN HEMT MMICS to understand root cause and develop corrective actions. Our team works hands-on in our Failure Analysis lab and performs analysis of customer returns, reliability failures, and non-conforming material. This position requires electrical and physical analysis of component failures followed by comprehensive report writing.
The Day-to-Day:
- Perform hands-on failure analysis in a lab environment, utilizing FA tools and techniques such as curve trace analysis, IR thermography, SEM-EDS, chemical de-processing, acoustic microscopy, and FIB cross sectioning
- Correctly interpret data and generate high-quality written reports that clearly describe the findings of FA investigations
- Conduct FA investigations in support of customer returns and work closely with Reliability, Product, and Process Development teams in support of new product development and qualification
- Develop novel FA processes and generate work instructions for use by a team of engineers and technicians
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements)
- A 4-year STEM degree with 1-2 years of experience in electrical component failure analysis, manufacturing, or reliability testing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of semiconductor device technology
- Experience obtaining and interpreting electrical and physical data
- This position requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations
