Responsibilities

Are you interested in developing a broad range of experience and connections through public accounting, but are also interested in analyzing financial and operational data and developing strategy to assist Fortune 500 and middle market companies through dynamic, challenging situations? If so, our Accounting Advisory Associate role would provide the work experience of a corporate financial analyst or private equity analyst, but through the lens of business advisory services where you are leveraging industry experience to assist clients through their unique circumstances.

This role blends the work of an accounting associate with the opportunity to perform advisory services within Baker Tilly's industry-focused advisory team as you develop experience to provide an unmatched experience within a public accounting firm.

As an Accounting Advisory Associate, you will play a key role on a variety of projects ranging from audit, data analytics, and supply chain that will build your technical & business skills, and enhance the operations, processes and performance of our clients. This role will provide you the opportunity to learn core accounting fundamentals and business processes through participation in external audits and then apply that knowledge to dynamic business situations our clients are facing through our industry advisory practice. Collaborating closely with an experienced team of problem solvers and leveraging the most advanced technologies, you will help clients analyze and resolve complex business issues as well as identify strategic opportunities. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Explore different roles and career paths and be a part of your own development trajectory across accounting and financial advisory fields
  • Engage directly with a variety of clients ranging from privately held businesses to publicly traded multi-national corporations
  • Learn how to approach complicated business issues such as product costing and profitability, capital investment decisions, key performance indicator management, and more by leveraging technology to develop unique solutions to enable clients to improve business outcomes Develop financial models to analyze the financial impact of ever-changing business situations: new facilities, changes to the labor force, acquisitions, and more
  • Advance the firm's goal of integrating analytics and technology into the external audit process
  • Develop relationships with leaders across the firm who specialize in solving challenging problems for our clients
  • Gain comprehensive accounting, financial analysis, advisory and project management skills
  • Apply specialized- accounting skills to execute financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, agreed upon procedures and special projects
  • Actively participate as an ambassador for advisory within the company, on universities campus and within other industry organizations
  • Develop new skills and advance your career as a result of:

We are looking for individuals who have an interest to understand the foundational operations of a business first-hand through an accounting lens and then leverage that experience to lead clients through a variety of situations. Individuals in this role must demonstrate the capability to solve problems with limited direction and think creatively to develop solutions. Our approach is to provide mentoring and guidance for associates as they develop an understanding of the business world, but also provide space and freedom to solve problems as they see fit. Over time, job experience will develop into unique specialization where you can become the subject matter expert in specific functional areas or industries as your career progresses.

Qualifications

  • Outstanding academic performance required, with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0, preferred
  • Availability to begin full-time employment during Fall 2023
  • Bachelor's degree in one or more of these areas of study:
    • Business: Accounting, Analytics, Business, Economics, Finance, Operations, Statistics, Supply Chain
  • There is currently no immigration sponsorship available for this position
  • Willingness to travel based on project assignment requirements
