As an R&D Engineer intern on the UI Toolkit Team, you will join a dynamic user experience team dedicated to building a premier user interface for Ansys products. The role primarily entails using C# and WPF to blend UI code with application logic and 3D modeling algorithms to create exciting new features.

This internship is a 40-hour per week paid position starting in August 2025 and concluding December 2025.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work collaboratively on a cross-functional team to take immersive user experiences from concept to reality.
• Develop UI using C#, Qt, Blazor, Stencil.js and/or WPF.

• Participate in the software development lifecycle by aiding multiple products across the ANSYS portfolio.
• Write effective automated tests.
• Work collaboratively and creatively with UX designers.
• Transform code from rough prototype to production-ready, maintainable, reusable components.
• Create polished, beautiful UI that is appealing to both designers and developers.
• Ability to handle other job-related duties as may be assigned by management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or UX/UI User Interface a related field
• Solid, demonstrable experience with C# or Java (C# is preferred).
• Basic understanding of CSS and/or SCSS
• Exceptional analytic and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge in the following areas is a bonus:
  • UI design and implementation using Windows Forms, WPF, or a Java UI framework
  • Knowledge of User Experience (UX) practices and techniques and/or previous experience working in a development environment with UX designers
• Experience with a source code control system in a production environment
