Features Editor, Chron

We're looking for someone who has a passion for discovering unique narratives throughout Houston and building out engrossing long-form pieces that Bayou City readers can't find anywhere else. The optimal candidate is an idea machine with excellent writing and reporting skills who can work independently in a fast-paced newsroom environment with minimal supervision. Chron is also seeking someone who has experience designing features and is excited by the freedom and responsibility that comes with establishing a new coverage area and helping shape the site's future. Candidates should also have experience working with a roster of talented writers and collaborators. In addition to overseeing features, duties will include mentoring staff editors and writers as they evolve feature writing skills.
