About the Job / About the Team
Our elite Public Sector division is the newest addition to our rapidly growing, highly successful sales team. We are currently developing this team of professionals from the ground up, so the individual who takes on this role will be a founder within this group. This team is already making waves and seeing immediate and profound success!
This individual will lead Federal Business Development activities. As an experienced Business Development Manager at Keeper, you will be responsible for the identification, qualification and bid of opportunities to secure new contracts across the Federal Government, both civilian and DOD. This individual will develop and establish strong ongoing relationships with Federal Government end-users, engineering stakeholders, program offices, contracting personnel, small businesses, strategic teaming partnerships and industry stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Generate new customer acquisition by driving early engagement directly within Federal Agencies
- Develop account penetration strategies for new customer acquisition, new business development and new customer relationship management for Federal agencies
- Create and execute a strategic account plan with long term vision and tactical actions to drive growth
- Build a pipeline of new opportunities, strategic projects, and strategic funding
- Lead early identification, qualification and win strategy of new business opportunities along with Federal ecosystem partnerships to support sales executives
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Federal end-users, Federal prime contractors, and Small/Disadvantaged contractors that work with the Federal agencies
- Lead tactical close phase for contract vehicles, such as Request for Information (RFIs) and Request for Proposal/Quote (RFP/RFQ), as needed for win strategy
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years’ experience in Federal Government sales or business development
- Proven experience identifying and capturing Federal Government business
- A comprehensive understanding of current trends and emerging technologies in the Federal Civilian IT market
- Experience identifying and capturing Federal Government business
- An understanding of the Federal Government security initiatives and programs as well as the key integrators and partners to align with
- Knowledge of federal security compliance (FedRAMP, RMF ATO, cybersecurity, CMMC)
- Knowledge of Federal procurement, Federal Government contract vehicles, FAR/DFAR
- Understanding of Federal Small Business/Disadvantaged Business requirements and socioeconomic classifications
- Familiarity with Federal programs including planning, budget and execution processes, and acquisition strategies
- Understand Federal Government mission priorities, strategic initiatives, and customer requirements to enable growth and execution of strategic account plans
- Proven record of success in growing new business and expanding current engagements
- Entrepreneurial mindset with experience in leadership positions
- Ability to build effective relationships and influence to drive results in matrix environment
- Strong customer focus: ability to develop customer specific value propositions
- Established network to actively meet with potential clients, identify new business opportunities
- Have the ability to travel to and from customer meetings (locally and nationally) and rent and/or operate a car on behalf of the company
- Must be at least 21 years of age and must be a US citizen
