Federal Civilian Business Development (BD) Lead
Job Description
Simple Technology Solutions (STS) is looking for a Federal Civilian Business Development (BD) Lead. In this role you will drive front-end sales activities by developing and managing a mature qualified pipeline.This BD role is primarily focused on sourcing and qualifying opportunities through federal customer relationships, industry partnerships, and vehicles to shape and win contract awards. Knowledge and experience marketing capabilities in the areas of Cloud Infrastructure, DevSecOps, and/or Data Engineering is required.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the BD Executive to develop a qualified pipeline that aligns with corporate strategy and annual sales, revenue, and submission targets.Â
- Focus on continuously expanding the pipeline and building customer relationships for clients within federal civilian including DHS, HUD, and Treasury. Â
- Qualify opportunities to vet “goodness of fit” and position STS with prospective clients and partners. Â
- Nurture & sustain customer and partner relationships that align with market growth and business development objectives.
- Work collaboratively with the delivery and CTO organizations to achieve successful execution of growth strategies.
- Develop and support strategic partnerships with industry leaders, driving innovation and new business opportunities.
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 8 years’ experience selling in the federal market
- 5+ years of civilian agency experienceÂ
- Experience sourcing and qualifying opportunities and helping shape pursuit and acquisition strategies.Â
- Ability to lead/support business intelligence and market analysis, and lead consortium/teaming efforts while supporting several pursuits simultaneously
- Ability to interface and negotiate with senior executives
- High energy level, sense of urgency, decisiveness, and ability to work well under pressure
Preferred:
- Experience selling digital or cloud services solutions to federal civilian agenciesÂ
- Experience managing a pipeline
- Experience delivering or selling into DHS, HUD, or Treasury is a huge plus.
- Experience building, executing client call plans & shaping strategies in a collaborative market team environment.
- Exemplary presentation and communication skills, including authoring white papers, responding to RFI’s and other presentation materials.
- Demonstrated success developing and presenting complex ideas to executive audiences and effectively articulating customer positions, status and strategies to senior management in a clear, concise and decisive manner.Â
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications, Slack, and CRM tools
