This is a Remote position.

As the Federal Measurement and Verification ( M & V) Engineer, You will provide technical analysis, review, measurement and verification of a portfolio of financially guaranteed energy-saving projects in excess of $10M per year in guaranteed savings. This position requires travel to customer sites, including international, up to 50% of time.

What you will do:

  • Works with the Federal Project Development team to develop performance contracting projects under Federal Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC), ESPC ENABLE, Utility Energy Service Contract (UESC) and other contracting vehicles. Performs building walk throughs and identifies energy conservation measures in Federal facilities. Works with development team and customer to determine best method for measurement and verification of systems performance. Develops Measurement and Verification plan. Works with proposal team by writing and reviewing sections of the technical proposals.
  • Conducts pre and post retrofit and performance period measurements for the verification of energy savings throughout the project. Confirms data integrity and validity. Ability to normalize utility data using regression modeling in Excel or similar tools. Ability to clean and analyze trend data in Excel to evaluate ECM performance in comparison to energy model regressions and performance curves.
  • Prepares annual M&V Report for project during the performance period, documenting the verified savings for the period and comparing to contractual guaranteed savings. Works with the customer and sales office to identify any change in the facility or operation that will impact savings. Work with the Contracting Officer to update the M&V Plan based on any changes required in the performance period.
  • Provides training to local Trane office, customer, and subcontractor personnel involved in the measurement and verification process.
  • Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating updates and outcomes.

What we expect of you:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, business or equivalent from a four year college or university preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Measurement and Verification or Energy Engineering
  • Knowledge and experience with HVAC, control, electrical systems. Working knowledge of cost and savings studies incorporating energy conservation measures.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
  • CMVP certification required (or able to obtain within one year)
  • US citizen with ability to pass background checks

Base Compensation Range is $84,000 to $150,000
