Fiber Technician I

ON A TYPICAL DAY YOU’LL

• Interact with executive level customers
• Read, understand, and follow work orders/job scopes created by Pilot Engineers
• Run 3mm terminated fiber optic cable through buildings and customer suites 
• Create and troubleshoot fiber paths into customer space by drilling through drywall, concrete and brick
• Respond to and resolve emergency fiber outages
• Operate OTDR, Light Meter, VFL, fiber optic fusers, and other fiber equipment/tools 
• Complete progress reports and job status updates daily

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Basic construction skills 
• Interest in providing top notch customer service
• Excellent communication skills
• Flexibility to accept changing shifts & work locations
• Comfortability working in confined spaces (basements, electrical closets, shaft-ways, etc.)
• Willing to work in all weather conditions 
• Valid, clean drivers license (MVR check required)
• Valid OSHA 30 Hour Construction Certification required 
• Reliable daily transportation to and from Brooklyn depot
• Capability of lifting up to 75 pounds

PILOT’S PAY & PERKS

• Base annual salary of $40,000-$52,000 ($19.23-25 per hour)
