FIB/STEM Engineer

The Failure Analysis Engineer is required to conduct routine failure analysis and circuit edit work on semiconductor integrated circuits using dual beam Focused Ion Beam Microscope, Scanning Transmission Electron Microscope and Field emission Scanning electron Microscope as required. The candidate should have hands-on demonstrated experience and knowledge of Semiconductor FIB/STEM/TEM/SEM sample preparation and analysis techniques. The FA engineer will be required to interact with lab engineers & managers on defining analytical methods needed to achieve expected results, meeting expectations of analyses including cycle times and documenting using internal reporting database management system in addition to interpretation of results to the requesters. It is expected that the candidate to understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements while actively participating in all company wide continuous improvement activities. As subject matter expert, the candidate will be required to document and train new team members as and when required.

Required:

Degree in Science or Engineering

Knowledge of SEM, FIB-SEM cross-section preparation and imaging, FIB based circuit edits

STEM sample preparation and imaging within FIB tool

Knowledge of TEM sample preparation using dual-beam FIB

Fluency in English Language - written & verbal

Able to perform night shift work (3.30pm to 11.30pm) on an 8 hours per day shift schedule.

Minimum 3-year experience using FIB, STEM and SEM/EDS including sample preparation, layer by layer delayering and physio-chemical analysis.

Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation; demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness

Strong team member, able to work well with a global team, train new team members as needed and other duties as assigned

Desirable:

Knowledge of TEM imaging

Perform system software alignment functions and perform routine maintenance procedures, flash, plasma clean etc.

Ensure consumables required for the tool is ordered on-time and ensure tool maintenance is carried out. Perform routine shut down procedure as well as tool down service.
