Field Automation Technician

BHS Robotics is seeking a Field Automation Technician to join our growing team in our Hanover Park, IL facility! This is a traveling position, approaching 100% travel.

Job Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and start drive and motor upgrade, especially in corrugated paper plants
• Install, program, startup, and modify automation solutions and upgrades using technologies including:
  
  • Robotics
  • PLCs and HMIs
  • Vision tools

• Install electrical, network, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components
• Perform maintenance tasks and inspections
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues remotely and on-site
• Assist with design, BOM creation, program development, and runoffs
• Create documentation for and instruct users in the use of their new and upgraded equipment
• Support end users and coworkers, as well as sales, electrical build, and mechanical build teams
• Provide occasional on-call emergency support to customers
• Ensure work is done safely and equipment conforms to safety standards
• Thoroughly test equipment and processes for quality and completeness
• Promptly submit accurate service and expense reports
• Other duties as assigned

The Ideal Candidate:

• Has a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical discipline
• Has experience in the corrugated paper, robotics, or general automation industries.
• Has 2+ years of relevant engineering experience
• Has experience with AutoCAD Electrical, Studio 5000, RSLogix, FactoryTalk View, Cognex In-Sight Explorer, Red Lion Crimson, ABB Pickmaster, and Yaskawa PalletSolver
• Has experience working with electrical, network, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Has experience with Allen Bradley ProFlex and/or other variable frequency drives
• Can read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
• Is skilled in using Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Has the ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Has the ability to work in office when not in the field

Salary & Benefits:

This is a full-time position offering $32-$38/hour BOE with overtime opportunities + full benefits as seen below!
