What’s brewingAs Blank Street’s Field Coffee Trainer Lead, your primary responsibility will be to support and promote the development and training for our cafe baristas and shift leads. The development and progress of your teams will be high on your radar, and you will act as their mentor, developing them and ensuring they have everything they need to succeed in their role.
You will be comfortable performing quality audits on our spaces in Washington DC to help guide the cafe on continuous improvements and helping serve the best quality products in our industry. You will be responsible for LMS compliance and improving company learning processes, always considering efficiencies and operational excellence.

- Support the successful orientation and training for all new hires into the region through our company process
- Support the neighborhood leadership team by coaching new employees to succeed at Blank Street using our learning management system, hands on training
- Support the development of the teams in your neighborhoods in a timely manner, ensuring coffee accreditations are handled on time in line with company standards by the cafe leadership teams
- Find creative ways to build and foster a learning culture in your neighborhood, keeping teams motivated, engaged, and excited to learn
- Support your General Manager maintain a great eNPS score by helping the teams address any productivity issues relating to product execution or training needs
- Communicate all observations of training and quality issues in a positive, professional, and timely manner to your General Manager
Product - Execute our product mix flawlessly
- Be an inspirational leader full of coffee knowledge and passion for the craft, knowing how to tailor training approaches to individuals to ignite passion and the desire to pour love into every cup of coffee made
- Have a thorough understanding of what makes Blank Street’s products unique and differentiated with the ability to communicate it to teammates when training and onboarding
- Support your General Manager to address any quality concerns in their stores found through conducting audits, with thoughtful corrective action plans and solutions
- Lead and help develop fun and creative training sessions to meet the needs of the business, understanding areas of opportunity in our training plan
- Support the creation of all new training materials, ensuring they are created in a timely manner and work well for our baristas
Performance - Be the best at what you do
- Have a good understanding of your neighborhood stores financial performance to support the field leadership teams take necessary action to make any improvements needed in the execution of product
- Act on any NPS feedback or trends swiftly, with a proactive teamwork approach
- Share thoughts and insights for improved store design or bar flow to drive speed, ease of execution, efficiencies and a better experience for our customers

- Coffee knowledge and expertise
- A love for hospitality!
- Experience training and coaching within an established brand
- An eye for all things quality and process
- 4+ years’ experience in a customer service leadership position
- Proven track record in specialty coffee
- Strong decision making and communication skills
Full Time: 45 hours per week, 5 days a week. Open to hold education and training classes out of store operating hours
