What you'll do:
Field Data Associate
We are hiring a Field Data Associate to work on the Agronomy team. This individual will work closely with agricultural datasets by: ingesting data, managing data, conducting analysis, and improving the process along the way. Once data is collected, you will analyze information and look for trends. In the process, you will be taking agronomic data all the way from the field and turning it into polished reports and information that will directly impact the Agronomy and Sales teams with their day-to-day activities. This position will report to the Field data manager.Â
This position is remote and requires 5% +/- travel. The role reports to the Field Data Manager. #LI-REMOTE #LI-USÂ
Responsibilities
- Ingest customer soil data and generate reports using the Performance Optimizer to assist with placement of SOURCE. Store and manage this data so that it can be tracked and analyzed.Â
- Collect in-season data like soil and tissue samples taken from the field, manage the dataset, and visualize the data for sales and marketing to use.Â
- Combine planting, spray, soil, and harvest data in order to conduct yield analyses by utilizing various software applications like SMS, Climate Fieldview, and John Deere Ops Center. Â
- Responsible for archiving and visualizing performance data in Google Workspace and Tableau from current and previous seasons to inform customers and sales team.
- Building charts and graphs used advanced data visualization techniques on small to medium data sets.Â
- Maintain and develop close grower and retailer relationships with key customers in order to successfully pull in data at different times throughout the year.Â
- Coordinate with marketing to provide relevant data overviews for activities such as farm shows, webinars and grower meetings.
- Maintain industry awareness regarding technical developments via networking, personal development and training.
- Ensure grower retention, satisfaction and increased use of our Source product on their acres by advising on use, in-season observations, and end-of-year evaluation
- Assist field development team in implementing trial programs with growers/retailers to ensure data integrity and analysis/reporting of results.
Targeted Skills & Experience
- Statistics and analytical background. Must have the ability to take agricultural datasets and run analysis to identify trends, create graphs, etc.Â
- Work experience in agronomy or directly related role consulting with growers, retailers, field development, product development, and sales teams; ideally with a technology/inputs provider, retail, or consultingÂ
- Direct ownership of digital farm data processing, including data collection, as-applied mapping, harvest file processing, harvest report creation, data warehousing
- Data visualization using tools such as Tableau
- Passion for agriculture and understanding of the ag inputs marketÂ
- Knowledge of digital tools and passion for using them to increase frequency of and quality of engagement with customers
- Strong working knowledge of Google Suite, Salesforce and/or other CRM systemsÂ
- Experience with farm data management software such as SMS, FieldView, and MyJohnDeere.
- Experience in customer support increasing customer satisfaction, adoption, and retention
