Field engineer

Job Scope:

FLSmidth is looking for a Field Service Engineer based at Oyu Tolgoi Mine, Mongolia. You will be supported by your manager and peers, contributing to the team's goal of maintaining and growing FLSmidth technology in Mongolia.

 Your responsibilities:

• This position will report to the FLSmidth Professional Services team and will work in collaboration with the Oyu Tolgoi client team.

• Daily scheduling and tasks would be provided by the Oyu Tolgoi client team, with approval from the direct manager at FLSmidth.

• Provide technical supervision to deliver FLSmidth equipment availability at Oyu Tolgoi process plant and underground mine.

• Supervises maintenance works of FLSmidth products at client site

• Identifies and corrects non-complex problems associated with FLSmidth products at the client site

• Supports ongoing relationships with customers to secure future business

• Actively advise on recommended maintenance and improvement works at the client site

• Bridge FLSmidth Industry engineering and products team with client

• Frequently report maintenance works and their requirements to management

• Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company’s operational activities

• Develops customer contacts to build long-term relationships with customers

• Responsibilities may include travel to other clients.

• Travel will include planned and emergency travels to the Oyu Tolgoi mine site (including the process plant and underground mine).

• The usual schedule would be a 14/14 roaster.

What you bring:

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (e.g. mechanical engineering, mineral processing)

• Significant field experience and knowledge working with mineral processing equipment

• Ability to read drawings, manuals, instructions, and behavior to follow them in the field.

• Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD software would be an advantage.

• Experience effectively interfacing with clients and gaining credibility; developing and implementing project-specific sales strategies.

• Good communication skills and ability to speak English at least an intermediate level

• Respect for deadlines and work independently to reach them.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
