Field Geologist

GTA is seeking a full-time Field Geologist for our Somerset, NJ office. Responsibilities include construction monitoring and testing of soil, concrete, and other materials. This is an excellent opportunity for training, certifications, and career growth. Previous experience is desired. Must have High School diploma/G.E.D., own vehicle, good driving record, like working with people, and enjoy working outdoors. This position may require standing for extended periods as well as repetitive motions such as lifting or hammering. The employee must have the ability to use their hands to handle, finger or feel; reach, climb or balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit, see and smell; including close, distance and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus. The employee will regularly lift and/or move 60 pounds; and occasionally move 80 pounds or more (such as a loaded wheelbarrow of concrete or soil samples). GTA will provide you with Personal Protective Equipment, which includes High Visibility Vest, Hard Hat, Gloves, and Safety Glasses. Hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM with likely overtime, which is paid at time and a half.

Successful candidates MUST have:

• High School Diploma or College Degree
• Ability to lift 60 pounds or more on a regular basis
• Previous Soils Testing experience desired
• Own Transportation
• Good Driving Record
• Current DCA certifications (preferred)
• NICET, ACI and other certifications (preferred)
