Your Role:   

As the FF Field Service Engineer, your role is to perform vehicle repair and maintenance as assigned in accordance with FF standards and build Customer loyalty by developing trust and ensuring confidence for the Users in FF products. You will be assigned a Mobile service repair van to travel for maintenance and repairs to vehicles at a customer's home or office, supporting the San Diego area. You will also support diagnosis and repair at FF Service Hubs and FFPartner locations.  You will be trained in the use of FF Diagnostic Equipment and Special Service tools to repair and test vehicles and systems including drivetrain, battery, suspension, brakes, steering, electrical, A/C, etc. You will interact with Service Advisors, other Technicians, Parts Specialists, and Engineers.  

The position requires an experienced professional with a strong background in diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of vehicles with experience in Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) is preferred. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. This position will require working with multiple departments on pre-production, show, and production vehicles.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent  
  • 5+ years of experience as an automotive service technician  
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information  
  • Knowledge in all aspects of automotive technician repair and maintenance  
  • Must be able to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical automotive systems.  
  • Requires computer skills  
  • Excellent communication and team-working tendencies  
  • Must pass drug and background screening  
  • Valid Driver's License with clean record.  
  • Ability to travel locally as well as overnight as needed – occasionally with short notice

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master-Certified Technician (ASE or OEM equivalent) 
  • AS/BS in either Automotive Technology, Engineering, Technology,  Business  Management, or equivalent work experience 
  • 7+ years of experience in a technical/engineering automotive or equivalent field 
  • Previous experience with EV diagnosis and repair
  • Knowledge of High Voltage systems, Low Voltage systems, and Electric Vehicle powertrains
  • A penchant for multi-tasking and self-starting  
  • A true sense of determination 

Annual Salary Range:

($85,000 - $101,000 DOE), plus benefits and incentive plans
