Job Description

What we need:

An excellent communicator, someone to act as the voice of Horace Mann within assigned markets (currently Boston, IL; Pittsburgh, PA; Cincinnati, OH; Chicago, IL; and Waco, TX) to drive candidate flow and generate excitement about a salary-based insurance sales role with an industry-leading, public, niche P&C insurance carrier.

What will you do:

  • You will own the cultivation and fostering of relationships with community colleges, universities and alumni groups to enthusiastically promote the Horace Mann sales opportunity; creating and executing strategies to ensure a robust pipeline of sales professionals
  • Attend Chamber of Commerce events to network and drive interest in the Horace Mann sales opportunity
  • Attend career fairs to generate interest in and boost candidate flow for the Horace Mann sales opportunity
  • Schedule and conduct “Lunch and Learn” events to promote the opportunity to prospective candidates
  • Travel to assigned markets to conduct events and project a continual local presence
  • Conduct email and phone campaigns to drive prospective candidates to events
  • Collaborate with sales leaders to keep them informed of market trends and involve them in campus and chamber events
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of Horace Mann’s sales opportunity including compensation, products, markets served, and ancillary benefits offered to help gain market access

Qualifications:

    • Possess a passion for presenting and educating prospects on new opportunities
    • Background in sales, recruiting or brand ambassador/product demonstration
    • Results-oriented and competitive
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Willingness to travel extensively
