Field Reliability Engineer

Field Reliability Engineers at Lunar Energy will be responsible for ensuring product reliability throughout the entire lifecycle of our revolutionary home energy products.  This includes assessing on-going field performance and implementing continuous improvements to enhance the customer experience. We are looking for people who are passionate about a more sustainable future and want to make that vision a reality. On a given day at Lunar, you’ll likely:

• Track field reliability performance for various metrics like part replacements, customer complaints, fault codes. Perform reliability life data analysis (LDA), with focus on impact factors like customer usage, configurations, and use environments.  Identify opportunities for continuous product improvement and reliability growth.
• Develop burn-in and ongoing reliability test (ORT) strategies for the manufacturing environment to maintain product field reliability and react to any unexpected results. 
• Collaborate with the data science team to create product health tracking to address field issues proactively. 
• Develop warranty models for deployed products to provide insights to the finance team
• Facilitate failure analysis of field returns to determine root cause and drive product improvement to implement containment and corrective actions in hardware design, firmware, or manufacturing. 

What Have You Done:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics or
  Equivalent.
• Understanding of Reliability Statistics
• Experience with accelerated life testing models and the governing equations, specifically for
  PCBAs, battery storage, and relevant mechanical structures.
• Experience with Reli-Soft Platform (Weibull++, BlockSim, and xFMEA).  Knowledge of Python and JMP would be a plus.

Our Compensation Philosophy: Our goal is to ensure that all Lunar Energy employees are fairly compensated. Please note that the salary range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position provided pursuant to the Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act for California applicants. The salary range estimate for this position depending on level of experience is: $120k - $160k USD.

The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package & benefits, will be at the company’s sole discretion, and determined by factors including but not limited to years of experience, job level, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
