Job Summary:
 
The Field Safety & Compliance Manager will be responsible for all OSHA related activities & compliance, to include OSHA logs for multiple locations, all OSHA related training and development, OSHA on-site inspections and follow-up, injury prevention programs, injury investigations and reviews, injury stats, PPE supplies, Fire safety programs, footwear program, onsite visits and inspections,FMCSA regulatory guidance and compliance, motor carrier transportation training development, orientation classes.
 
Essential Functions: 
 
Administers policies and procedures related to training and develops program to decrease accidents and injuries.Provides guidance and decision making on issues that arise either to subordinates or other personnel to ensure compliance and protection of company interest.
  • Verify company is in compliance with all federal and state laws, regulations, requirements, permits, licenses and authorities necessary to operate a transportation business.
  • Performs audits and ensures that all terminals, projects and operations have an understanding on federal and state compliance requirements.
  • Complete and distribute processes and training as needed, as well as reports and stats as requested or scheduled.
  • Prepares documentation for OSHA responses or any other inquiries and requests from federal or state agencies.Articles and information for newsletters, meetings, or presentations.
  • Researches new safety products and new regulations to present training to company employees.
  • Monitors accidents and injuries for follow-up on root cause analysis.
  • Assume additional assignments/tasks as needed.

Other Requirements:
 
  • 2 + years related experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Safety, Occupational Health, or related experience.
  • OSHA 1910/1926 30 hour and Hazmat certifications.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor.
  • Working knowledge of all federal, state and local regulations.
  • Powerpoint, Excel, Word, & any transportation related software.
  • Ability to solve practical problems, effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form. Write reports and procedure manuals.
  • Travel required.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
