Position: Safety Specialist/Field Safety Manager

Location: Des Moines- Statewide Travel Required (Up to 80%)

Salary Range: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Key Responsibilities:

Policy Development and Enforcement: Establish and implement health and safety policies, fostering a culture of workplace safety in compliance with legal guidelines.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to identify potential hazards, ensuring adherence to legal requirements.

Training and Education: Conduct engaging training sessions and presentations on health and safety matters, emphasizing accident prevention.

Compliance Oversight: Monitor and enforce adherence to policies and laws, conducting regular inspections of employees and operations.

Accident Investigation and Prevention: Investigate incidents to identify root causes, handling worker's compensation claims, and recommending preventative measures.

Key Requirements:

Travel and Availability: Comfort with up to 80% travel, including last-minute trips, and a commitment to being on call 365 days a year.

Experience and Certifications: Recent experience (last two years) in heavy equipment, construction, oil and gas, alongside certifications in First Aid/CPR, HAZWOPER, and knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, and FRA regulations.

Education: Bachelor's degree in safety management or relevant field preferred, with a valid qualification in occupational health and safety.

Training Proficiency: Ability to develop and deliver training on various safety topics.
