Field Sales Engineer

The position

We are currently looking for a sales engineer within our team in the UK.

Our new field sales engineer will be responsible for managing a focused selection of customers to complement our needs as a company as we grow in the test and measurement industry.

Your role will be primarily automotive industry-focused. But also has the potential for application focused sales depending on knowledge and background.

Your primary area of focus will be in data acquisition, software, sensors and services in targeted at automotive industry applications.

You will join our dedicated sales team supporting the UK regional business.

Primary responsibilities

Sales-oriented activities:

• Visiting potential/existing customers and generating enquiries through professional sales techniques using a consultative approach to get to customer concepts and demonstrating the unique strengths of working with HBK

• Using appropriate hardware, information and materials

• Acquiring new customers and supporting colleagues with specific product and technical knowledge – working as a team is important

• Preparing quotations using CRM and price lists

• Preparing more detailed proposals from tender specifications

• Providing feedback to the company in the form of reports and forecasts

• Actively contributing during departmental meetings

• Involvement in promotional and marketing activities in your area

Support for service-oriented activities:

• Interaction between our service departments to bring service sales activities

• After sales support orders

• Pre-sales customer support work

General assistance activities:

• Monthly Reporting

• Team meetings via skype/webex

• General shared team activities in UK and, on occasion, Northwestern Europe and HQ

Professional qualifications

You hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s or equivalent degree in an engineering or technically based discipline.

Personal skills

• Excellent commercial understanding

• Excellent phone communication

• Excellent IT knowledge (Microsoft® Office®, CRM, etc.)

• Good team-player approach

• Can-do attitude
