Field Service Engineer - Electrical

As a Field Services Engineer I - Electrical, you will be playing a critical role on the Field Services Team. 

Your work will directly impact clinical operations, developing processes and metrics to improve field service outcomes, specifically through electrical system improvements to existing hardware.You will work at the intersection of operations, manufacturing, and hardware engineering to implement these improvements into production.You will be the expert who solves complex field issues that few others can figure out. This position requires a multi-disciplinarian who is excited to roll up their sleeves and do what is necessary to keep our fleet operating at its maximum potential.

Role and responsibilities:

This role will affect metrics to improve field services outcomes, including:

• Improving robot uptime
• Decreasing time to repair
• Improving first contact resolution rate
• Increasing the average time between failures
• Increasing electrical documentation and troubleshooting knowledge in the field services group 

Required skills: 

• BS in Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial preferred), or 10 years technical experience in relevant fields.
• <20% travel for site inspections and repairs escalated to engineering.
• Must be local to Austin, Texas, or be willing to relocate.
• Must be a US citizen or permanent resident with work authorization. 

The ideal candidate has:

• Performed troubleshooting on complex electrical systems, especially in robotics applications.
• Revised and maintained electrical documentation, including: Electrical schematics, Cable drawings, Simple PCB design, Generated technical documentation for technicians to troubleshoot and repair electrical assemblies.
• Mentored and trained robotics technicians.
• Analyzed failure data to identify highest points of leverage, and drive improvements into design or manufacturing.
• Participate in the hardware engineering design process to affect improvements for reliability and field service related outcomes.
• Coordinated and executed inspection, maintenance and repair of the robotic assemblies.
• Experienced with electrical CAD software (EPLAN and EAGLE preferred).
