Location/Division Specific Information:
US - Franklin, MA or Madison, WI - Remote. Residency in or around the Franklin or Madison areas is required.
How will you make an impact?
Join our EPM team as an FSE, responsible for commissioning, repairing, and maintaining instruments throughout North America supporting our Chemical Analysis Division. You will also collaborate with customers to resolve technical issues and optimize their processes.
Instrumentation includes: APIX, Prima PRO/BT, Sentinel PRO, SOLA II/iQ, and our MAX FTIR line.
A Day in the Life:
- Provides onsite commissioning of instruments, repairs, upgrades, updates, and preventive maintenance.
- Displays integrity, understanding, tact, fairness, and technical knowledge in all customer interactions.
- Build relationships with customers to offer recommendations of other service products/offerings
- Collaborates with internal partners to resolve customer issues and improve processes.
- Follows all reporting responsibilities of Remote Service Dispatch (RSD) and Field Service Report (FSR) submissions.
- Follows policies that pertain to the handling of spare parts: ordering, usage, returns, physical count, trunk stock management, etc.
- Maintains their technical proficiency level for servicing our instrument line-up by reviewing instrument manuals/technical documents, attending trainings, and participation in team meetings.
- Manage travel expenses and follow travel policies and guidelines
Working Conditions:
- Frequent travel to customer site is required (targeted 70-75% utilization)
- Works both remotely at home and in a variety of customer environments dependent on application (Oil & Gas, Chemical Plants, BioPharma, etc.)
- Required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties
- Works safely with chemicals and hazardous materials
Required Qualifications:
- Uses effective questioning to identify customer needs
- Exercises judgment setting work priorities and identifies next steps
- Requires minimal supervision
- Participates as a positive influence to the team
- Quickly adapts to change with positive and constructive feedback
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, biology, chemistry, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience and knowledge can be taken into consideration.
Experience
- 3+ years of field service experience with related science, engineering, and customer service skills preferred
- Commissioning, preventive maintenance, and repair experience with spectroscopy instrumentation (with FTIR experience preferred)
