Position Summary:
The field service technician role centers around assisting customers resolving any field issues and reporting back to the quality and engineering teams on the issue resolution. This assistance is conducted by means of, In person Resolution, Telephone Response, Digital / Virtual Assistance. Special attention will be placed on electrical and computer-based trouble shooting skills. When not conducting customer resolution assistance, the Field Service Technician will provide training and support to dealers/distributors. The FST team is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the content for the Greenworks Battery Academy (GBA) and annual Digital Dealer Training modules within the GBA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Aid (hands on and on site if needed) customers with field issues with Greenworks Battery Tools.
- Train or assist in training of internal and external entities supporting Greenworks Tools.
- Participate in the creation of annual Digital Dealer Training programs.
- Participate in the creation of video content for the Greenworks Battery Academy (GBA).
· Complete daily reports which will report issues and resolutions to problems in the field.
· Create, maintain and/or utilize digital customer assistance programs.
· Support Customer Service with Sales Force activated action items hourly / daily.
· Provide support to dealers/ distributors.
· Maintain and operate a company supplied Service Vehicle.
· Perform Other Duties as assigned.
Experience Required:
· Possess strong attention to detail.
· Possess in-depth Problem-solving skills.
· Possess extensive computer skills for trouble shooting and vehicle programming.
· Possess electrical trouble shooting skills with the use of electrical tools and computer data gathering.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· A demonstrated willingness for continual learning and skill development is required.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to neatly translate thoughts into written paragraphs and articulate equipment operation and failures.
· Demonstrated effective teamwork and interpersonal skills are required, including willingness to receive direction from either supervisor or other team members to support department goals.
· Fluent in Excel / Word / Powerpoint programs.
· Potential physical demands include, but are not limited to frequent/constant walking and standing, occasional twisting, stooping, kneeling, lifting, handling, pushing, and pulling.
Required Education and Experience:
· High school degree or equivalent (Trade school or bachelor’s degree preferred).
· 5+ years of experience in automotive or power equipment service or equivalent.
· Strong proficiency in electrical and mechanical issue diagnosis and resolution.
· Strong mechanical aptitude is required including a strong background in using hand tools, power tools and outdoor power equipment.
Travel:
· Travel up to 75% (travel includes Domestic and International).
