Finance Accounting Manager

ULTRA MOBILE is seeking a talented Finance Accounting Manager to join the Finance in Costa Mesa, CA! Individual reports to Assistant Controller. Role is hybrid.

This role is a hybrid opportunity that requires a local commutable distance to the HQ Costa Mesa, CA office as needed.

Ideal candidate MUST have: an Active CPA license, and prior experience with public accounting firms.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Finance Accounting Manager will report to the Assistant Controller and will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information to document the company’s financial performance.

Your usual day of awesomeness includes:  

• Participate in the month-end closing process ensuring the team meets the 4-day closing deadline.
• Assist with all aspects of accounting: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, bank reconciliation, credit card expense reconciliation, and payroll.
• Responsible for delivering timely and accurate monthly financial reports and ad-hoc reports.
• Coordinate with the budget team when providing historical financial data, forecasts, and projections.
• Prepare selected balance sheet account reconciliations in compliance with GAAP.
• Ensure inventory balances are accurately reported by preparing & overseeing inventory reports and identifying and investigating inventory inconsistencies within the general ledger.
• Post journal entries relating to inventory and cost of goods sold.
• Work closely with the Supply Chain team to ensure accurate month-end entries are submitted timely.
• Review cycle count procedures and periodically assist with cycle count/physical inventory.
• Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls over inventory.
• Analyze general ledger variances and assist with corrective actions.
• Assist with the preparation of audit work papers and schedules.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Certified Public Accountant ( Active License)
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• At least two years’ public accounting experience with a top tier accounting firm and experience with public company accounting and SOX compliance.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar general ledger system. 
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting.
• Great computer skills and strong Excel experience.
• Payroll experience preferred and/or willing to learn payroll.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Exceptional organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Professional demeanor and the ability to carry out business communications.
• Ability to interpret data and organize information accurately.
• Must be a team player and work effectively with cross-functional teams to align strategies, activities, and timing.

In support of the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the range of starting pay for this role is $135,000 - $145,000.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location.  We also offer a variety of benefits including health, disability insurance, 401 (k), flexible spending accounts, EAP, education reimbursement, parental leave, unlimited vacation, bonuses, and company paid holidays.  The specific programs available will vary depending on state, start date, and employment type.
