The Vice Presidency for Corporate Support (COSVP) integrates Budget and Business Administration, HR, Communication, Partnerships, and Information & Technology functions under one umbrella to enable the execution of IFC's management and operational needs in the best way. Within COSVP, the Budget and Business Administration department (CBA) plays a pivotal role in allocating IFC scarce resources and aligning them to IFC 3.0 by leveraging budget as a management tool to mainstream the corporate strategy, creating profitability and efficiency metrics, improving the scorecard, and overseeing procurement and facilities administration.

CBARM, a division within the CBA department, is looking to recruit a Finance Analyst to support its Central Budget Unit (CBACB) with corporate reporting and analytics, and the monitoring and planning of capital budget and corporate overheads. The position requires excellent technical, analytical, verbal and written communication skills. The Finance Analyst will be based in Washington, DC and report to the Manager, CBARM.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Corporate Reporting & Other Analytical Activities:

• Support the production of corporate reports on budget and spend, writing certain sections of the deliverables, working with the relevant Secretariat (MT/Board) to manage processes, setting agendas for meetings, preparing relevant materials, including PowerPoint presentations, and contributing to management briefs and reports.• Provide ad-hoc analysis requested by Board, MT and SMT to support their decision-making.• Liaise with staff in the IFC B&F network to improve knowledge and awareness with respect to budget methodologies, policies, internal controls, IFC policies and procedures.

Budget Support to Capital Budget and Corporate Overheads:

• Maintain the capital investment program in the IFC budget systems (BPC, SAP), ensure integrity of the records; maintain and validate monthly depreciation projections and actuals; support the annual write-off and quarterly budget closing reviews.• Support capital budget release as requested by client teams, ensure adherence to the capital budget management principles and timelines.• Contribute to capital budget-related policy reviews and systems improvements as needed, perform user testing.• Support budget planning, monitoring and reporting activities for Corporate Overheads.

Selection Criteria

• Relevant bachelor's degree (Finance or Accounting) with at least four years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional accreditation, a plus.• Sound knowledge and understanding of accounting theory, concepts, and principles, combined with proven practical skills in financial and cost accounting, reporting, business planning, work programming, budgeting, financial management and audit.• Good understanding of critical linkages and relationships between finance and budget processes, business operations and objectives. • Strong problem-solving, conceptual, and analytical skills.• Validated experience in applying analytical skills (especially finance and budget analytics): proven track record of conducting research and analysis, data mining, report generation, good narrative grasp of 'the story behind the numbers', and ability to articulate and present issues and tradeoffs and recommend solutions to aid management in decision-making.• Exceptional Excel spreadsheet design skills, ability to quickly identify logical data structures; proficiency in using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint presentation software.• Desired working proficiency in SAP, AO, BPC, BI, and other budget systems used by IFC for transactional and reporting purposes.• Experience in Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools desirable.• Interest in working with technology rollouts.• Excellent communication skills (in English), written and oral, to convey complex budget and administrative financial issues concisely to peers, management, and staff within and across departments.• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and collaborate with the team, or with internal/external partners in a multicultural environment. • Proven, consistent dedication to excellence and consummate attention to detail.• Ability to work under pressure; flexibility in handling several concurrent assignments.
