Your Role
NLC is in an exciting time in its maturity, as we continue the journey from a start-up to a scale-up. Refining and professionalising our processes in the Finance team is essential to that as well as driving efficiencies to cope with an ever growing portfolio of life changing, groundbreaking and cutting-edge ventures. To enable this growth, we are looking for an entrepreneurial Finance Analyst to help improve financial governance, control and reporting for NLC and our portfolio of our ventures/subsidiaries. You will be a key part of the Finance team and report to (and work on a daily basis with) the Lead Finance and Data Analytics.
Your Activities and responsibilities include:
- Support with the preparation the financial statements of NLC group’s 5 core entities plus NLC’s captive fund entities (4 entities and growing in the years to come)
- Establish new /enhance existing controls and monitor them to ensure the accuracy and completeness of our bookkeeping (an increasing area of complexity with 80+ ventures in our portfolio and 4 funds with over €30mn AuM)
- Support in the audit of NLC Group and our applicable NLC Captive Funds, growing to being the key point of contact for KPMG, the group auditors
- Help to manage relationships with Venture CEOs and accountants. Ensure they are invoiced correctly and in a timely fashion; ensure there are appropriate loan agreements in place covering NLCs exposure; and ensuring they fulfil their legal/tax filing and reporting requirements
- Ongoing support with miscellaneous financial projects and initiatives (e.g. one-off implementation of new tooling, tax matters when they occur, annual review of corporate insurance portfolio, etc.)
- Support/lead the internal management reporting process and help to ensure top quality BI/MI and transparency to our investors
- Support to prepare and analyse financial data including management reports, forecasts / budgets, and financial modelling
Your ProfileÂ
- High attention to detail, data/process driven and structured approach
- Commercially minded auditor (degree in Accounting & Finance, Chartered accountant is a plus) and/or transaction support at Big 4 firm with 3+ years of experience ideally
- Enthusiasm to learn complex financial topics including corporate tax matters (local and foreign), fund structures, payroll legislation, etc.
- Demonstrated high level of proficiency with Excel / Powerpoint
- Enthusiasm to learn how to use different accounting software such as Exact Online (Bookkeeping system), LucaNet (financial consolidation platform).
- Driven to make an impact via healthtech and sustainable innovation
- Ability to effectively function in an entrepreneurial, complex and rapidly changing organisation
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Availability to start from 1 July or sooner is desired
- Willingness to relocate to (commuting distance of) Amsterdam
