The Finance Analyst II is responsible for the preparation, coordination and documentation of financial analysis around all payment acceptance types. Day to day and project analysis around payment acceptance will support Finance and other departments as well as add overall value to the organization. The Finance Analyst II works to ensure timely and accurate reporting and helps to create new and enhanced reporting. Serving as an expert in multiple aspects of payment acceptance at our stores, this individual's responsibilities will include investigating unusual activity, supporting internal account reconciliation, and conducting vendor fee and payment trend analysis that will be shared with management and senior management both within and outside of finance.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with and supports teams within and outside of Finance to help analyze trends around cash acceptance as well as credit, debit, gift, fleet, co-brand, and private label card acceptance.
- Works with the Executive Director of Finance to assess current processes, systems and tools supporting payment acceptance analysis.
- Utilizes and creates effective reporting and analysis both within and outside of established reporting tools.
- Escalates items as appropriate to Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Marketing, etc. to help resolve issues. Follows through to minimize potential threats and losses.
- Uses analysis and findings to make recommendations to management and senior management.
- Searches for ways to reduce fees associated with all payment acceptance types, including that of armored car and card processing.
- Participates in payment acceptance related projects and provides financial impact analysis and modeling and supports in making recommendations as a result of that analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a 4-year College or University; a focus on finance, computer science, business, or related field preferred.
- 2-4 years' experience as an analyst preferred
- Advanced knowledge of Excel preferred
- Experience with BI reporting tools is preferred, experience with Power BI is a plus
- Experience with Accounting systems and a high-level understanding of Accounting is a plus
