Finance Analyst II
Job Description
In this role, you will also be expected to review incurred but yet to be reported expenses from Medica's health service provider network based on member utilization data. The Financial Analyst will be analyzing months end general ledger by pulling large sets of data from multiple systems, adjusting existing SQL queries, and making adjustments within the general ledger.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a major in Finance, Accounting, MIS, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent experience in a related field
- 3 years of experience within an accounting finance or closely related role
- Fully proficient with Excel, and Access including some advanced features of both systems to support daily work tasks (Able to run Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUM and IF Statements)
Additional Skills:
- Fluent with Accounting and Finance principles and processes - Finance related degree is preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail - able to demonstrate experience and ability to carefully review and evaluate financial and non-financial datasets.
- Able to catch and troubleshoot errors and discrepancies using experience with historically related data and reports
- Strong data management skills and able to balance this work with accounting needs
- Prior experience with healthcare data and or healthcare claims data is helpful, but not required
- You should have experience being accountable and responsible for process outcomes of the work described above
This position is a Hub role, which requires an employee to work from the Minnetonka office, on average, 3 days/week.
