Finance Analyst - Procurement
Job Description
Viking Global Investors LP is a global investment firm founded in 1999. We manage more than $37 billion of capital for our investors across long/short, long-only, and liquid/illiquid strategies. We have approximately 240 employees and offices in Greenwich, New York, Hong Kong, London, and San Francisco.
LOCATION: 55 Railroad Ave, Greenwich, CT (Hybrid- 3 days in office, 2 days’ work from home)
JOB FUNCTION
The Finance Analyst - Procurement will report to the Head of Corporate Accounting and work closely with members of the Corporate Accounting team and various other departments at Viking. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Help evaluate and improve Viking’s current procurement process across the firm’s various major operational spend categories
- Source, analyze and compile cost data leveraging networks or vendor relationships to ensure best pricing can be achieved
- Prepare and improve reporting of firm spend over time to assist with ongoing analysis and identify opportunities for value engineering
- Work closely with other Corporate Accounting Team members in the ongoing operations of the management company to understand spend impact on Financial Reporting, Planning & Analysis
- Partner closely with Technology, Office Management, Legal and other departments on best practices and assist with vendor negotiations
- Assist with Vendor onboarding, ongoing management, and inquiries
- Manage various third-party programs (Amex, Concur, Corporate Uber, Mobile Devices) which contribute to meaningful ongoing spend
- Play an important role in efficiency initiatives, including Technology projects, accounts payable workflow optimization and vendor management
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have:
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, finance, accounts payable or similar role.
- An undergraduate degree with a strong GPA
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong knowledge of Excel
- Previous Real Estate or Technology procurement experience is a plus
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize/work in an environment with competing demands
