Finance and Operations Associate, Family Office

The Cohen Private Ventures team is seeking a Finance and Operations Associate to support and optimize the team’s investment management procedures.

Cohen Private Ventures (CPV) oversees certain family office activities for, and invests capital on behalf of, Steven A. Cohen and his family. We invest long-term capital, primarily in direct private equity, venture and growth equity financings, concentrated public markets positions, real estate and other opportunistic transactions. What you’ll do 

As the Finance and Operations Associate, you will perform a variety of duties to support and optimize the team’s investment management procedures. Specifically, you will:

  • Maintain and prepare CPV’s weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports: investment performance file, net asset value, brokerage positions, accounting reconciliations, quarterly flash file, investor capital account statements, and more
  • Manage liquidity needs and monitor all cash movements under the CPV / founder umbrella
  • Oversee the administration of the CPV and personal investment portfolios of the founder, including setting up and maintaining the infrastructure for investments, processing invoices, expenses, and capital calls, and distributing realizations to investors
  • Coordinate and support the annual audit process
  • Review and anticipate regulatory reporting and filing requirements
  • Maintain the current investment management technology platform
  • Foster effective relationships both within and outside the organization (i.e., banks, brokers, etc.)
  • Liaise with Point72 for all CPV’s administrative, tax, compliance, legal, technology, finance, and operations matters

What’s required 

A successful candidate will be self-starting, motivated and efficient, with the ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Specifically, you will have:

  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; 3.5 GPA or higher
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to keep track of multiple projects, think critically, and work through abstract issues in an organized and efficient manner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present results and recommendations to senior management
  • An outstanding attitude and work ethic
  • Ability to anticipate work, multi-task, and prioritize assignments
  • Operate with a high level of discretion, and ability to handle proprietary information
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards

The annual base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $125,000, which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
