Finance Applications - Product Owner, Project Management Office

The Role

This is a full-time role based in Dallas. As a Product Owner on the Project Management Office team, you will manage and deliver solutions to meet the constantly evolving need of our Finance teams. Initially, this role will support an in-progress finance technology implementation project. Once successfully delivered, the team will serve as Finance Product Owners and will be responsible for the continuous improvement of implemented workflows within our finance applications.

Core Responsibilities

• Serve as functionally aligned partner initially supporting for allocation and banking workflows
• Develop, communicate, and continuously refine product roadmaps to meet evolving needs of our users and enable continuous improvement of their workflows
• Build a deep and thorough understanding of users’ domains, including business processes, responsibilities, and priorities
• Translate desired business outcomes into functional design solutions within third party finance applications
• Research, prototype and test new and /or enhanced functionality
• Lead and coordinate all testing activities, in partnership with stakeholders
• Build the foundation for project efforts by capturing the business context – problem definition, current state definition, objectives, business case, desired future state definition, etc.
• Partner with Engineering team members to ensure alignment of workflows between internally developed application stack and SaaS finance solutions
• Provide specifications for developers and work closely with them during the software development lifecycle

Preferred

• Candidates should ideally possess hands-on experience working with GL, treasury and related finance technology solutions
• Experience leading design, configuration, testing, and post-production support for multiple functional areas, including experience with data conversion, security configuration, and process documentation
• Ability and desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance professionals and managers
• Experience operating in an agile environment and specifically writing user stories
• Proficient in productivity tools such as Smartsheet, Jira and Confluence
