Finance Controller (all genders)

As the Finance Controller (all genders) within the Reporting and Planning team sitting in the Finance organization, you are responsible for financial planning and controlling Zalando’s logistics functions. You derive the key business insights for decision making and provide transparency on logistic cost development. With more than 200 million Orders, 525 million Shipped Items annually, Logistics is the back-bone of Zalando’s success story and our Logistics Controlling department is responsible for planning & monitoring the annual logistics budget of approx 3 Billion Euro.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• You will take care of our monthly and yearly financial planning, forecast & reporting as one of your key tasks

• You will come up with meaningful insights and derive data-driven solutions. You are responsible for increasing transparency through continuously improving our tooling and reporting landscape

• You’ll work autonomously with our data to create new metrics and reports and maintain existing ones in close cooperation with our Business Intelligence team & other operational Logistics teams

• You will be a go-to person for our Senior Management and other Zalando Controlling Teams, for our Business Intelligence, Central Finance and our Operational Logistics teams providing transparency and decision support. You challenge and support them with our high quality, analytical insights in the core decision processes.

• You will actively take part in business case preparations, assumption validation, target setting and budgeting process

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• A university degree in economics, business administration, mathematics, statistics or similar disciplines and relevant experience in Controlling with a strong analytical/financial focus (Financial modelling, Analytical tooling, Excel Modelling, Planning & Reporting, business cases, etc.)

• More than +3 years experience in Controlling, Business Analysis and/ or similar fields of expertise

• A very good understanding of numbers and excellent analytical skills with a passion for the latest tools & technologies (excellent knowledge in Office skills; Power Office tools etc would be a big plus)

• A controlling mindset with an ability to challenge & support our stakeholders with ad-hoc analysis to enable our growth strategy, understanding key trade-offs and actively supporting business decisions. 

• Being fluent in English. Having the capability to not only communicate clearly but also write structurally and understandably.
