Opportunities Available

The Finance Data Science Internship will include opportunities in the following areas:

• Data Science: Work with machine learning models (e.g. scikit-learn) and other statistical tools to develop business solutions that inform decision-making and increase efficiency.
• Data Visualization: Utilize business intelligence tools, such as Power BI, to help communicate complex concepts, model outputs, and performance metrics.
• Data Engineering: Use tools like SQL and Azure Data Factory to enable data science applications through the gathering, storing, creation, and preprocessing of data.
• Educating the Business: Engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to educate how data science can inform business decisions, spread data science awareness, and enable further category leadership for Stryker

Majors Targeted: Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Technology (IT), Information Systems (MIS), Statistics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Finance/Accounting

What You Need

• Currently working on completion of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in related field or equivalent; we will only consider students who plan be enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the summer
• Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above; must be the case at the date of hire and also will be verified during background check in the spring
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• Ability to exercise independent judgment
• Experience coding in Python, SQL
• Basic understanding of data structure, ML libraries/frameworks
• Proven leadership and business acumen skills
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills
