The eCoE is focusing on three areas delivering a high-level of financial expertise, innovative insights, and an entrepreneurial mindset that enables agility and flexibility for stakeholders. The eCoE is a talent engine for Finance through capability and network building.
There are three focus areas within eCoE:
- Financial Backbone
- Digital Innovation
- Analytics and Insights
Within the eCOE, the R&D Outcome Based Community (OBC) focuses on delivering a high-level of financial expertise, innovative insights, and an entrepreneurial mindset to influence and support R&D investments at Roche. In this role, you will have interactions with senior finance leaders and influence decision-making. You will be part of a global organization and enhance your connection within Roche Finance. You will have the opportunity to gain exposure to different functions and communities.
Who you are:
As a member of the R&D OBC and eCoE, you demonstrate strong analytical skills and possess R&D experience or strong interest to learn R&D. You will bring a flexible working approach with an ability to pivot to where support is needed. You are a self-starter and have the ability to flex beyond immediate job scope. You are detail-oriented and comfortable working with a large dataset. You will exhibit abilities to navigate a dynamic environment and work across various systems and you will help to articulate & visualize a financial story in an impactful manner. In addition, you bring the following core skills:
- You hold a Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Business-related discipline - MA/MBA preferred
- 5+ years of experience in Finance preferably in a global setting
- Strong foundational finance and accounting expertise
- Strong analytical skills and experience or strong interest to learn R&D
- Strong modeling capabilities and tool mastery (SAP, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
- Ability to ensure integrity of financials and adherence to key processes
- Strong communication skills, storytelling and ability to influence
- Business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit
- Collaborative, curious mindset and ability to connect the dots
Your work packages may evolve over time whilst for now the role will be focused on the following key elements:
- Supports the R&D SPOCs on various deliverables along the monthly and yearly financial cycle (planning, actuals tracking, closing etc.)
- Closely partners with the R&D SPOCs to deliver impactful Analytics & Insights to FEPs and the R&D Finance Leads (recurring and ad-hoc)
- E2E ownership of operational work-packages in areas such as month-end closing & reporting incl relevant stakeholder management
- Builds close and trusted relationships with the FEP community and with members of other OBCs (e.g. partnering ,pharma, PT)
- Supports SPOCs on strategic priorities (e.g. Capacity Exercise, Study Excellence, RDE, ASPIRE) with data, analytics and tracking progress
- Ensures integrity of financials (validation, accurate recognition) and orchestrates collection of inputs from FEPs (e.g. monthly narratives)

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California. Primary Location State is $109,300 and $202,900. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
