Finance Intern

Position Overview:

As a finance intern at Outset Medical, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to meaningful projects in the finance field.  We are seeking a highly motivated, analytic and detail-oriented intern to join our team. This internship presents an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a strong foundation in finance and develop essential skills in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting.  The role will report to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager.

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Ability to learn Planful multi-dimensional planning system in preparation for key project.
• Assist in financial data analysis: Collect, organize, and analyze financial data to support decision-making processes.
• Support forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to develop and maintain financial models, budgets, and forecasts. Help review and analyze departmental budget submissions and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
• Key project involving financial reporting: in this project you will identify metrics and prepare financial reports relating to key performance indicators, including variance analysis. Will include a presentation of results.
• Support ad-hoc financial projects: Contribute to special projects assigned by the finance department.

Required Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a college degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and draw meaningful conclusions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable learning new financial systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
