Job Description

Brooks Automation is a growing, fast-paced technology leader of automation solutions which support the dynamic and expanding Semiconductor and Laboratory Automation markets. This will be a hybrid role based out of Chelmsford, MA and will be a part of the Finance Operations team.

What you will do:

  • Lead a hybrid team of cost analysts responsible for global cost accounting.
  • Provide support and/or guidance, as needed, on Cost Accounting for direct reports, as well as the Business leaders.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing process for cost accounting.
  • Review and approve journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Partner with SCM to ensure accounting for 3rd party contract manufacturers is done in accordance with the contracts.
  • Oversee the Warranty Provision Accounting.
  • Collaborate with the finance business teams to ensure costs are reflected accurately in the P&L.
  • Provide gross margin reporting and analysis by product line.
  • Review, analyze, and establish material, labor, and overhead rates for each product line on an annual basis.
  • Assist in compliance activities (e.g., SOX, key and internal controls, fixed asset audits, physical inventory) Analyze ROI (Return on Investment) of expenditures for manufacturing projects, identify operational implications, and recommend improvements.
  • Assess system capabilities and process efficiencies and make recommendations for enhancements and upgrades.
  • Provide ad hoc support and / or participate in special projects.

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 8 years' experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment with multi-location, and multi-currency.
  • Must have a strong cost accounting background and a sound understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant managerial experience.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a team-oriented environment, often cross-functional.
  • Strong critical-thinking, analytical, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
