Finance Manager - Digital Group
The right person for this role has great analytical skills paired with outstanding conceptual thinking. The person is an excellent communicator, sets a high bar for themselves, and has a track record of success when partnering with key business operators. A successful candidate will be able to confidently navigate a rapidly evolving, dynamic environment and seek opportunities to drive efficient processes and challenge the status quo.
Responsibilities:
- Become a trusted business partner to the Humanetics Digital Group across our CAE (Computer Aided Engineering), FEA (Finite Element Analysis), and Center of Excellence services.
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of digital finances including licensing, pricing, PO's, DSO days sales outstanding, cost, etc.
- Lead the Business annual planning process and monthly forecast by coordinating with the business executives.
- Support month and year end closing process, analyze results and provide flux analysis to corporate team, including balance sheet account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Provide analytical support, identifying key emerging financial trends, measurement of key performance metrics, capital budget and key initiative evaluation and planning, cost analyses and customized reporting.
- Manage external vendor costs and software tooling, including tracking actuals to PO and budget allocating across teams.
- Support Digital BU's purchasing activities, approvals of invoices, handle accruals.
- Evaluate opportunities for optimizing financial processes and performance through data analysis.
- Review of customer contracts for proper revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and revenue recognition accounting standards. Apply ASC 606 and company revenue recognition policies.
- Identify and help implement new ways to retain and engage our existing subscriber base, working closely with both the marketing and product organizations to amplify user engagement and mitigate risk.
- Lead the subscription management process from start to finish, including vendor and he customer side
- Evaluate and help implement new financial software that will support the subscription model business.
- Work on revenue team projects and process improvements.
- Ensure correct application of internal controls and support corporate accounting team on ad hoc projects
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Corporate Development or Finance/Accouting ideally in fast-growing companies (subscription businesses preferred)
- Prior experience in a fast paced, financially driven business environment
- Expertise in building highly complex models adjusting for a wide array of assumptions and communicating findings to executives concisely and creatively.
- Demonstrated success at building strong relationships with other teams (Business Development, Marketing, Business Operations, Sales)
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Excellent teamwork skills
- High level of curiosity and self-motivation in digging deeper into data and trends and driving actionable insights
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.
- Proven ability to multi-task and deliver under tight deadlines.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.
- ASC 606 revenue recogintion.
Preferred Education:
- Master's degree or CPA preferred.
- Focus on Finance, Strategy, Management is a plus.
