Finance Manager - Special Projects

Grow your career as a Finance Manager - Special Projects within ALG Vacations, one of our 14 industry-leading brands. In this role, you will make a significant contribution to ALG Vacations (ALGV) by providing leadership to drive change across the business unit. This role will be responsible for leading projects, which may include, but not be limited to, identifying and implementing new procedures or technologies to drive efficiency, reviewing and advising on control processes to drive consistency and SOX compliance, and investigating fraud occurrences and leading efforts to mitigate further fraud. You will bring a good understanding of business processes and accounting practices to the role. This role requires an excellent balance of financial expertise and organizational skills, as well as collaboration and communication skills.

A successful Finance Manager - Special Projects will:

• Lead assigned projects from start to finish, working cohesively with department leadership and subject matter experts to ensure a successful outcome. Projects may be independent or involve a team from across the organization.
• Apply a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of processes, with a focus on internal controls, GAAP compliance, risk management, and overall compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with leaders across ALGV in the development of project need areas and prioritization of projects.
• Where appropriate, develop ROI for major projects and then measure ongoing results.
• Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt core values.

A successful Finance Manager - Special Projects will have:

• Bachelor's/MBA degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting preferred
• 4-5 years' experience within a big 4 accounting firm
• SAP and Hyperion experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products required
• Practical knowledge of US GAAP, SOX and internal control frameworks
• Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively and effectively at all levels of the organization
• Individual must be an effective change agent with problem-resolution skills
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and initiate proactively
• Understanding of risk management concepts and key performance drivers within the travel industry a plus
• Strong oral and written communication skills
