Finance Master Data Implementation Manager

Job Description:

This Associate will be managing a project and be responsible for a) partnering with the Global Finance Master Data Transformation Lead to ensure the business is represented in the development of the master data maintenance processes for the future consolidated reporting system(s) at Mars, b) the delivery of a centralized physical data model for the consolidated reporting systems. This will include structures of the finance master data and any additional dimensions identified as required for the consolidated reporting systems, c) creating user stories to ensure the centralization of finance master data is efficient, optimized and user centric, and d) transitioning any support of OC MDM processes to a steady state team.

To deliver the physical data model, the role will need to be familiar with finance master data maintenance processes, the conceptual finance data model and the technical structures that may be required within the impacted systems (e.g., MDG, Group Reporting, PaPM, Data Lake, Consolidated Reporting Systems) The role will be the main resource working to deliver the physical data model within the technical systems and must be familiar with the technical landscape to input the structures of the dimensions, attributes, and hierarchies of the master data.

This person will partner closely across many teams at Mars, (including Corporate Controllership, Corporate FP&A, Customer Data Council, Product Data Council, Digital Technologies MDM Team, and Data Representatives from the Segments) to identify the design and standards for the consolidated reporting systems, ensure the design is being delivered through a standardized / harmonized physical data model, and build the master data structures to align to the new physical data model. They will have the opportunity to build a great network across Corporate Finance, Digital Technologies, and Segment Representatives; and will need to have strong communication skills to align the delivery across all impacted stakeholders.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor's degree or at least 5 years of equivalent experience in Accounting / Finance / Management or similar technical field is required.
• Detailed experience with Master Data and SAP MDG is required.
• Functional knowledge in software development lifecycle (SDLC) is preferred.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to organize workload is critical.
• Advanced written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills is required.

• Have a good understanding of Finance Master Data and the approved Mars Finance Data Model.
• Have functional knowledge of inputting physical data structures for finance data and attributes into MDG and maintaining master data key value mapping tables.

What will be your key responsibilities?

To Deliver the One Consolidation Master Data Maintenance Strategy:

• Partner with the Global Finance Master Data Transformation Lead and MDM Digital Technologies team to build design documents.
• Ensure owned activities are delivered on-time per the project timeline.
• Manage priorities and workload of design, build and test support.

To Deliver the Physical Data Model and Harmonize Master Data for Consolidations:

• Interact with key stakeholders through design workshops to identify dimension, attribute, hierarchy, and mapping requirements for impacted consolidation systems.
• Design the build in MDG of the OC physical data model to align with consolidation system requirements and the conceptual finance data model.
• Populate the physical data model structure in MDG by creating approved dimensions with attributes, hierarchies, and mapping logic needed for the newly created dimensions to source finance master data.
• Support end user training on the physical data model and any supporting tools to support the physical data model.
• Support the go-live and hypercare of the consolidated reporting systems through the MDG platform and master data feeds needed.

To Create User Stories for OC Finance Master Data

• Develop user stories of the MDM processes to be centralized in MDG for OC data dimensions and provide input on the workflows that should be created to support speed and control.
• Coordinate changes with key OC stakeholders as testing issues are identified and dimensions are centralized.
• Support integration testing to confirm finance master data design adheres to identified requirements.

To Transition Support to Business as Usual

• Create training for steady state team to support OC MDM processes.
• Perform training with steady state team to ensure they are aware of the MDG processes and impact to OC, MRP and all downstream systems.

Decision Making Authority and Impact

This role will have the opportunity to develop the physical finance master data within the Finance of Tomorrow program. The finance master data created will be the future backbone of all consolidated financial reporting at Mars, Inc.
