Position Summary:

Trupanion is looking for an organized and innovative Manager to join the FinOps Team. Collaborating cross-functionally, you will lead the FinOps team to improve our financial systems and business processes, ensuring Trupanion remains nimble and adaptable while enhancing our financial and operational data accuracy and reducing manual efforts. Strong candidates are passionate about analyzing and solving business problems, clearly documenting and communicating about sophisticated systems, and rapidly adapting in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on position that requires a candidate who is willing to dig into the details, but is still capable of maintaining a 20k-foot view.

This position is only open to candidates in the Seattle area. You will have a hybrid remote/in-office schedule that requires you to work from our casual, pet-friendly office 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Coach, develop, and support an amazing team of accountants primarily focused on Finance Systems, Initiative Support, Order to Cash/AR, Claims Payments and Commissions/Partner Payments.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional end users to identify financial requirements and lead projects to support business initiatives.
  • Analyze business process workflows, financial systems, and software capabilities to streamline and support the administration and deployment of key tools such as Workday, Zuora, and payment service providers.
  • Drive revenue growth by optimizing order to cash processes (minimizing failed payments, reducing processing fees, providing alternate payment methods, etc.)
  • Partner with the Business Intelligence and Analytics teams to provide enhanced data and reporting to drive data-based decision making.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for financial systems and reporting needs.
  • Coordinate billing and claims support, ensuring members payment experiences are seamless and worldclass.
  • Other ad hoc related tasks and projects as needed to support our 5-year strategic plan and vital growth initiatives.

Experience:

  • BS/BA degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business, preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience and at least 2 years as a proven team leader

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Proven ability to communicate efficiently cross-departmentally, required
  • Project management experience, required
  • Experience in capturing and documenting business requirements, required
  • Knowledge of recurring billing processes payment processors and gateways, required
  • Ability to creatively problem-solve and drive process improvements, required
  • Capacity to prioritize requirements and respond dynamically amid changing business needs, required
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, required
  • Exposure to SOX, PCI, and/or other regulatory requirements, desired
  • Familiarly with lean/agile concepts and processes, desired
  • Experience with financial and insurance systems, desired

Compensation:

  • The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 on a full-time schedule.
  • Along with the base salary, Trupanion employees may be eligible for monthly bonuses.
  • We want all employees to be invested in Trupanion’s success, so we grant Restricted Stock Units to all new team members. Our new hire grants vest over 4 years.
